Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khachi has said that on the occasion of Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s 150th birth anniversary, the government of Pakistan is taking practical steps to promote his philosophy and message at both national and international levels.
He said that the solution to today’s global challenges lies in the thought of Iqbal, which conveys the message of humanity, selflessness, freedom of thought, and universal brotherhood.
The Federal Minister said that the government has constituted a “150-year Committee” for grand celebrations marking Allama Iqbal’s 150th birth anniversary. The committee includes government officials as well as Iqbal scholars, academics, and researchers.
In this regard, Iqbal Academy Pakistan will play a central role and extend support in establishing Iqbali Centres across the four provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. In the first phase, the “Iqbal Research and Cultural Complex” has been launched in Sialkot, which will serve as a hub for research, training, and academic exchange.
Mr. Khachi further stated that Iqbal Academy Pakistan is also working to translate Allama Iqbal’s writings into international languages and to publish research projects of national and international scholars on Iqbal’s philosophy. These initiatives will not only help introduce Iqbal’s thought to the new generation but also align national life with the guiding principles of his vision.
To highlight Iqbal’s thought globally, academic conferences, exhibitions, and dialogues will be organized in collaboration with universities, research institutions, and scholars. These efforts aim to bridge the intellectual gap between the East and the West and promote Pakistan’s cultural and intellectual identity worldwide.
The Federal Minister added that the government will also incorporate the teachings and philosophy of Allama Iqbal into the education system and national policy, so that the new generation can be inspired by his message of self-reliance and nation-building.
