LAHORE, Oct 7: Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana reiterated on Monday that any form of corruption within the police force would not be tolerated, urging strict action on all related complaints.

He made these remarks during a monthly performance review meeting for the Iqbal Town and Sadar divisions, held at his office. The meeting reviewed both the divisions’ operational efficiency, professional conduct and performance.
In preparation for the upcoming South Africa-Pakistan cricket series, the CCPO directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements. The supervisory officers must carry out their responsibilities diligently, closely monitoring their subordinates’ performance, he asserted. “Police officers must not only protect citizens but also foster a sense of security through exemplary conduct,” Kamyana added.
The CCPO also addressed the issue of celebratory gunfire, which has become a concern in the city. He announced a strict crackdown on the dangerous practice of aerial firing and ordered an operation targeting gambling networks.
Highlighting the importance of swift justice, The CCPO stressed the need for timely investigations to ensure cases reach a logical conclusion. He directed that standard operating procedures for security guards be rigorously enforced and also warned of firm action against those involved in social crimes, including illicit activities in guesthouses.
Regarding financial crimes, the CCPO instructed that cases be resolved within a set time frame and urged the arrest of proclaimed offenders. He also reminded authorities to ensure that private security guards adhere to Punjab government’s SOPs. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to respect the dignity of the citizens visiting police stations.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including DIG (Administration) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, as well as SPs, ASPs, circle officers, SHOs and investigation in charges from Iqbal Town and Sadar divisions.
