Punjab Assembly Speaker, Turkish Consul General vow to boost bilateral ties

LAHORE – Consul General of Türkiye in Lahore, Mr. Mehmet Eymen Simsek, called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan at the Speaker’s Chamber, where the two sides held detailed discussions on strengthening bilateral relations, trade cooperation, defense, education, energy, and broader strategic partnership.

Welcoming the Consul General on his posting in Lahore, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said Pakistan–Türkiye friendship is built on sincerity and mutual trust. He expressed gratitude to the Turkish government for its support to Pakistan’s flood-affected communities, adding that both nations have always stood by each other in difficult times.
The Speaker further highlighted vast opportunities for Turkish investors in Punjab, noting that parliamentary and diplomatic engagements have further deepened bilateral ties.

 

He stressed that the significance of Pakistan–Türkiye friendship must be passed on to future generations.
Consul General Mehmet Eymen Simsek, in his remarks, said the peoples of Pakistan and Türkiye share historic bonds of brotherhood and affection. He assured that cooperation at all levels would continue in the years ahead.

Hon’ble Members of the Provincial Assembly Malik Ahmad Saeed Khan, Malik Ijaz, and Malik Taimoor Khan, along with Principal Secretary to the Speaker Amad Hussain Bhalli and Advisor to the Speaker Usama Khawar, also attended the meeting.
