LAHORE, September 3 – The Lahore Police have announced significant progress in its city-wide campaign against narcotics, revealing that more than 8,000 suspects have been apprehended since the beginning of the year.

Official data released today by the spokesman shows that 8,439 individuals have been arrested in connection with 8,244 registered cases. The operations have also led to the seizure of massive quantities of illicit substances, including over 4,066 kilograms of hashish, 797 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 445 kilograms of heroin, 272 kilograms of opium, and 48,854 liters of liquor.
In this regard, Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana reiterated that there is no place for drug dealers in Lahore. He has directed to intensify intelligence-based operations and enhance coordination among all law enforcement agencies.
Mr Kamyana directed the Station House Officers (SHOs) to ensure surveillance of known offenders with prior records in drug trafficking. He also emphasized to monitor digital platforms being used for the online sale of narcotics.
Underlining the broader strategy, he stressed the importance of a comprehensive approach to dismantle organized crime networks. “Those involved in the drug supply chain must be brought to justice to protect our youth from the scourge of addiction,” he said.
Reiterating the police department’s commitment, the CCPO declared, “Lahore Police was dedicated to eradicating this menace and making the city drug-free.”
