LAHORE: A special meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Council of Churches in Pakistan (NCCP) was held at Naulakha Church, Lahore, chaired by Rt. Rev. Alvin John Samuel, President NCCP, with Rev. Dr. Majid Abel, General Secretary NCCP, and other office bearers.

Special guests included Maulana Asim Makhdoom, Chairman Kul masalak Ulma Board, Syed Mufti Ashiq Hussain, Dr. Badr Munir, and Shahid Rehmat, whose presence reflected unity, harmony, and interfaith solidarity. Members present included Rev. Naseem Akhtar, Mr. Shehzad Khurram, Rev. Shehzada Khurram, Rev. Asher Gill, and Rev. Emmanuel Khokhar, along with other members of the Executive Committee.
The house reaffirmed that the NCCP is an ecumenical body constituted solely by four mainline denominations—Presbyterian Church of Pakistan, Church of Pakistan, The Salvation Army, and the Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church—and only their representatives are the legitimate office bearers. It was further declared that any individual or group outside these four denominations attempting to project themselves as NCCP are imposters, illegitimate, and fake.
The meeting also strongly condemned the so-called meeting recently convened by Mr. Victor Azaraiah at the NCCP building, where he attempted to declare a list of office bearers, calling it totally illegal, unauthorized, and devoid of any constitutional or moral standing. The NCCP appealed to churches, partners, and the public to recognize only the leadership constituted by its four founding denominations and to reject any parallel claims outright.
