The ceremony began with a strong condemnation of India’s unconstitutional move on August 5, 2019, when New Delhi revoked the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir, stripping its people of fundamental rights and autonomy.
In a symbolic gesture, PSCA officers and staff observed a one-minute silence to honour the martyrs of the Kashmiri freedom movement. The national anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir were also played, evoking deep patriotic sentiments among the participants.
According to the PSCA spokesperson, real-time surveillance was carried out through Safe City cameras to monitor rallies and events held across Lahore and Punjab in connection with Kashmir Siege Day, ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order.
The Authority paid glowing tribute to the sacrifices, courage, and determination of the Kashmiri people, while urging the international community to take serious notice of the ongoing human rights violations in the occupied valley.
The PSCA also reiterated its call for the implementation of United Nations resolutions, which guarantee the right to self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
