He shared that multiple high-profile cases have been successfully solved across different police stations in the city, including cases of brutal murders, kidnappings, thefts, and robberies. He also emphasized the department’s commitment to cracking down on criminals, busting gangs, and ensuring justice for the victims.
In one of the most gruesome cases, Kahna Investigation Police arrested a father and son duo for kidnapping and murdering a 72-year-old man named Farukh Shakeel. According to DIG Zeeshan Raza, the prime suspect was a close friend of the deceased and had called him to his residence. Once there, the elderly man was drugged with five to six Capoten tablets dissolved in water to reduce his blood pressure. He was then strangled to death. The culprits later transported the body to a remote area near Jaranwala Motorway Rest Area, doused it with petrol, and set it ablaze. Shockingly, after the murder, they also demanded ransom from the victim’s daughter. DIG Zeeshan vowed that the police would submit a strong challan to the court to ensure strict punishment for the culprits.
In another horrifying incident, Shalamar Investigation Police arrested a man for brutally killing his 10-year-old daughter, Iman Fatima. The suspect had hit her repeatedly with bricks during a domestic dispute. Though she was rushed to Services Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. DIG Zeeshan stated that the accused was arrested using modern technology and human intelligence.
Sabzazar Investigation Police made a breakthrough in a 1.5-year-old murder case involving a property dispute. The victim, Wajid Hussain, was shot dead by three accused — a father and his two sons — who were tenants of the deceased. They had refused to vacate the property and resorted to murder when pressured. The suspects had fled to tribal areas and were arrested using a combination of intelligence networks and surveillance.
In Gulshan Ravi, the police arrested three members of a notorious theft gang led by Sajjad Hussain, who had a criminal history of more than 128 cases. The gang had looted a garments shop at night, stealing trousers, T-shirts, and other apparel worth lakhs of rupees. The stolen goods were later recovered.
Ichhra Investigation Police arrested an employee who robbed his employer’s shop, stealing over one lakh rupees in cash and eighty-five tolas of gold. The accused broke into the locker during the night and escaped but was later apprehended by police, and the stolen assets were recovered.
DIG Zeeshan Raza also shared performance statistics of the Lahore Investigation Wing from January 1 to July 28, 2025. Out of 203 murder cases registered, 178 were solved. Among 74 cases of women’s murder, 67 were traced, while all seven cases involving child murder were successfully resolved. From 430 attempted murder cases, 391 were solved and 547 suspects were arrested.
A total of 3,500 cases of women abduction were registered, of which 2,938 were resolved and 3,140 abducted women were recovered. Additionally, 400 cases of child abduction were registered, of which 368 were solved and 428 out of 453 abducted children were recovered. In 411 rape cases involving women, 363 were solved and 416 suspects were arrested. Out of 326 registered child abuse cases, 299 were resolved and 337 accused were arrested.
The police also took significant action against electricity theft, registering 15,386 cases and resolving 14,189 of them. As many as 11,735 proclaimed offenders were arrested, including 2,788 involved in serious crimes. Moreover, 9,798 court absconders and 3,143 repeat offenders were arrested.
In total, 956 criminal gangs were busted, with 1,960 gang members arrested. These arrests led to the solving of 18,478 criminal cases. The value of recovered stolen property, including vehicles, cash, and gold, exceeded 3.16 billion rupees.
DIG Zeeshan Raza commended the hard work of investigation officers and their teams, adding that such achievements would not have been possible without the dedication and professionalism of the force. He urged the public to continue cooperating with police in maintaining peace and security in the city.
