M QADEER

Reporter:Congratulations on PIAF’s historic victory in the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) elections! What, according to you, contributed to this historic success?

Zeshan Sohail Malik: Thank you! This victory truly marks a remarable moment for the Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF). I believe the key to this success is the dynamic and visionary leadership of Mian Anjum Nisar. His dedication and long-term vision have been instrumental in galvanizing the business community. The unity and determination within PIAF, combined with our clear roadmap for addressing the concerns of the business sector, resonated with LCCI members. Anjum Nisar’s relentless efforts in advocating for the rights and interests of traders and industrialists have earned him and PIAF immense respect. The business community sees PIAF as a force that understands their challenges and offers solutions.

Reporter: How do you see PIAF’s role evolving in the future, especially in the leadership of Mian Anjum Nisar?

Zeshan Sohail Malik: In Mian Anjum Nisar’s leadership, PIAF will continue its mission of advocating for the business community. His vision includes fostering a more business-friendly environment, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and improving trade and industrial growth. Our focus will be on bringing stability and confidence back to the market, especially during these economically challenging times. PIAF always believed in dialogue and collaboration, and we will engage with the government and relevant stakeholders to address the pressing issues facing businesses today.

Reporter: Speaking of economic challenges, how do you assess the current economic atmospher in the country?

Zeshan Sohail Malik: The country’s economic situation is untoward. We are facing inflation, a weakening rupee, and a slowdown in both local and foreign investments. The business community is particularly affected by rising operational costs and unpredictable policies. However, I believe that with the right approach, these challenges can be overcome.

Reporter: What steps would you suggest to the government to improve the economic landscape?

Zeshan Sohail Malik:The government needs to adopt a proactive approach by engaging with bodies like the LCCI and other trade organizations. A powerful consultative process can help address issues such as inflation, tax reforms, and industrial growth. I urge the government to collaborate with stakeholders from the business sector to design policies that foster growth, attract investments, and restore confidence in the economy. This cooperative approach will be key to stabilizing the economic situation and steering the country towards sustainable growth.

Reporter:Thank you for your precious time and insights.

Zeshan Sohail Malik: Thank you!
