LAHORE — A 60-member delegation from the Civil Services Academy met Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan during a study visit to the Provincial Assembly on Monday.

In the meeting, the Speaker held an in-depth discussion with the officers on addressing public issues, the stages of lawmaking, and the functioning of the parliamentary system. He informed the delegation that, for the first time in Punjab’s parliamentary history, the committee system has been fully empowered, bringing greater transparency, effective oversight, and strengthened decision-making to the legislature.
During the visit, the delegation received a comprehensive briefing on the legislative process, parliamentary traditions, and the internal workflow of the House. They also visited the Assembly Hall, Committee Rooms, and the Media Gallery.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan emphasized that research, uninterrupted access to information, and transparency form the foundation of a strong parliamentary democracy.
The Civil Services Academy officers described the study tour as highly beneficial, noting that it allowed them to closely observe the practical aspects of lawmaking.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the Speaker and the Punjab Assembly administration for the warm reception and detailed briefing. Secretary Parliamentary Affairs Khalid Mahmood and Director Protocol Amad Hussain Bhalli were also present at the meeting.
