ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has cautioned Pakistani expatriates — particularly those residing in the United Kingdom — about a fraudulent website falsely operating under its name.

The authority revealed that the bogus platform, titled “Nadra Card Centre” and accessible at nadra.cardcentre.co.uk, has been deceiving overseas Pakistanis by presenting itself as an official Nadra service provider. The website misleadingly advertises services such as ID card issuance, NICOP processing, and even employment opportunities.

Nadra clarified that it has no affiliation whatsoever with the website, which is unlawfully exploiting the authority’s name to mislead the public. Citizens have been warned that sharing personal data on such fake portals may result in identity theft or financial fraud.

The organization has filed a formal complaint with the National Cyber Crime Agency to initiate action against those responsible.

Nadra advises married citizens to update marital records

Separately, Nadra has urged all married individuals to ensure their marital status is updated in its official database to prevent potential legal or administrative issues in the future.

In a notice shared on its official Facebook page, the authority pointed out that numerous citizens have registered their marriages with Union Councils but have not yet updated their status in Nadra’s system.

Nadra has asked such individuals to visit their nearest Nadra centre to get their records corrected. The initiative is part of the authority’s broader effort to maintain accurate and reliable national data.

To facilitate citizens, the authority has also launched an SMS alert service regarding marital status updates.

Citizens may seek further assistance through helpline 1777 (mobile users), 051-111-786-100, or by visiting the Nadra website.

Fee and required documents

Nadra stated that the fee for updating marital status on a CNIC is Rs100, categorised as an “unprintable alteration.”

Applicants must provide supporting documents—such as a Nikahnama or marriage certificate—when submitting their request.
