Voices in Punjab Assembly raised to unanimously pass resolution on Kala Bagh Dam

LAHORE: In the Punjab Assembly, once again the members of the assembly suggested the formation of a committee under the chairmanship of the speaker to pass a unanimous resolution on the Kala Bagh Dam.

During the official proceedings in the Punjab Assembly session, the government and opposition members discussed the current situation of the environment, smog, water shortage and its conservation. Irrigation Minister Kazim Pirzada called Kala Bagh Dam as the lifeline of Pakistan and invited all the provinces and political parties to come on the same page.

During the Punjab Assembly session, the government and opposition members of the assembly described the growing population as a problem, saying that if the population is not controlled, then Pakistan will not be able to get out of the problems and neither will it be prosperous, government member Ahmed Iqbal said in Explaining the reason for smog, he said that Lahore has become the most polluted city with 83.15% of vehicles and 9% of industrial smoke. will increase

In the meeting, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan also gave a ruling to hand over all the proposals of the members of the assembly to the standing committees of the Agriculture Department and the Irrigation Department, however, Panel of Chairperson Samiullah Khan also announced to call a special meeting on the proposals of the two committees. Parliamentary Secretary Environment Kanwal Pervez Chaudhry, concluding the discussion, said that he was informed about the government’s measures to combat smog. 10,000 rupees are being given to 40,000 disabled people under Hain Hamat Card. After the agenda was completed, the session of the Punjab Assembly prorogued.
