DEHLI (Web Desk) – A viral video purportedly showing members of the Agarwal family celebrating after securing bail in the Pune Porsche crash-linked evidence-tampering case has reignited public outrage and intensified scrutiny of the high-profile matter. The footage, which circulated widely on social media, drew criticism from several quarters, including actor Vishal, who strongly condemned the visuals and questioned the message they send to society.
The controversy stems from the 2024 Pune Porsche crash case, in which two young IT professionals lost their lives after being hit by a luxury car allegedly driven by a juvenile under the influence of alcohol. In February, the Supreme Court granted bail to three accused connected to the evidence-tampering aspect of the case, while imposing conditions that they must not misuse their freedom.
Reacting to the viral clip, Vishal took to social media and launched a scathing attack on the accused family. The actor criticised what he described as a display of insensitivity, stating that the accused had no reason to celebrate given the tragic loss of two lives. He further alleged that wealth and influence appeared to have allowed the family to publicly rejoice despite the seriousness of the allegations against them.
In his post, Vishal also urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take note of the situation. He expressed concern that such incidents could undermine public faith in the justice system and set a troubling example for society.
The video shows Vedant Agarwal dancing alongside relatives at what appears to be a social gathering, while guests applaud and cheer. The visuals quickly went viral, prompting sharp reactions online and drawing criticism from the families of the crash victims.
However, the Agarwal family has strongly denied claims that the gathering was linked to the recent bail order. In a statement, Vishal Agarwal, father of the accused, clarified that the video was recorded on September 2, 2023, during celebrations marking his 25th wedding anniversary in Goa—months before the fatal crash occurred. He dismissed reports suggesting the family was celebrating a legal victory as inaccurate and misleading.
The controversy has also drawn comments from the victims’ families. Suresh Koshta, father of one of the deceased victims, expressed disappointment over both the alleged celebrations and the broader handling of the case. He argued that the incident highlights concerns about accountability and stressed the need for legal outcomes that reinforce public confidence in the rule of law.
Despite the family’s clarification, the viral video has reopened public debate about privilege, justice, and the lasting impact of the Pune Porsche crash case.
