TOBA TEK SINGH (Web Desk) – Police on Monday claimed to have killed three suspected outlaws and arrested two of their alleged accomplices during an operation connected to the recent armed attack on Punjab Assembly member Ayub Gadhi.
According to officials, the suspects were involved in an assault on the MPA’s camp several weeks ago, during which Ayub Gadhi sustained serious injuries. The attack also left four people dead after gunmen opened fire at the site.
Police said the Crime Control Department (CCD) launched a raid in an area falling within the jurisdiction of Rajana Police Station to apprehend the accused.
During the operation, the suspects allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the police team in an attempt to resist arrest. Law enforcement personnel returned fire, resulting in the deaths of three key suspects.
Two alleged accomplices were taken into custody, while weapons were recovered from the suspects during the operation.
Officials said further investigations are underway and special CCD teams have been formed to trace and arrest other individuals believed to be linked to the attack.
The operation marks a significant development in the investigation into the shooting that left the Punjab lawmaker injured and claimed four lives.
