South Africa to face Pakistan in World Championship of Legends final

In the second semi-final of the World Championship of Legends, South Africa Champions defeated Australia Champions by one run to earn a spot in the final.

Australia Champions scored 185 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs while chasing a target of 186.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, South Africa posted 186 runs. Morné van Wyk led the charge with 76 runs, supported by JJ Smuts with 57, Jean-Paul Duminy with 14, Henry Davids with 11, Sarel Erwee with 9, and AB de Villiers with 6.

Australia’s bowling attack saw Peter Siddle take 4 wickets, D’Arcy Short grab 2, while captain Brett Lee and Daniel Christian each claimed 1 wicket.

Daniel Christian topped Australia’s batting with 49 runs, followed by Chris Lynn with 35, D’Arcy Short with 33, Shaun Marsh with 25, Ben Dunk with 12, Rob Quiney with 9 (retired hurt), Ben Cutting with 8, Callum Ferguson with 3, and Nathan Coulter-Nile with 0.

South Africa’s bowling was led by Wayne Parnell and Hardus Viljoen, each taking 2 wickets, with Dwaine Olivier and Imran Tahir picking up 1 wicket each.

The final is set for August 2, pitting South Africa against Pakistan, who advanced to the final after India declined to compete in the first semi-final, resulting in a walkover for Pakistan.
