LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Punjab government has issued a notification announcing revised working hours for all government schools across the province, setting the schedule from January 19 to April 15, 2026.

According to the School Education Department, single-shift schools will operate from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, teaching hours will run from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.
For double-shift schools, the morning shift will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, while the afternoon shift will run from 2:15 pm to 4:45 pm.
The notification also extends teachers’ working hours from Monday to Thursday to include preparation, training, and professional development activities. Teachers have been directed to take part in CPD, training, and curriculum-related tasks.
It further states that teacher attendance will be mandatory on alternate Saturdays. Chief Executive Officers (Education) have been instructed to ensure strict implementation of the new schedule.
The Punjab government has also allowed a 15-minute time adjustment for boys’ and girls’ schools to manage local needs and maintain smooth operations.
