ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – In a move expected to impact industrial activity, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will suspend gas supply to industrial consumers, captive power plants, and CNG stations for 48 hours starting January 17 at 8:00 am.
Officials said the temporary shutdown is aimed at ensuring better gas pressure for domestic and commercial users. However, the decision is likely to slow down production in factories and affect fuel availability at CNG stations, potentially hitting businesses and commuters alike.
The spokesperson added that gas will also be cut during nighttime hours, from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am, as part of the gas load management schedule. Industries and CNG stations are advised to make arrangements to minimize disruption.
Experts warned that such short-term supply interruptions could have a ripple effect on the economy, increasing operational costs for businesses and causing inconvenience to the public.
