LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Law Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan chaired his first departmental briefing meeting at the Law Department, Civil Secretariat Lahore, after assuming charge of the portfolio of Law Ministry.

Minister C&W Sohaib Ahmed Bharath welcomed the minister along with others while Secretary Law Asif Bilal Lodhi gave a comprehensive briefing to the Minister regarding the overall performance of the department, ongoing development projects, and proposed initiatives for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Secretary briefed that major projects included Establishment of Lady Bar Rooms for women lawyers at all District and Tehsil Headquarters across Punjab, Construction of District Attorneys’ Offices in Okara, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lodhran, Sahiwal, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Hafizabad, Bahawalnagar, Vehari, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura, and Narowal, Progress on the construction of the Advocate General Office, Bahawalpur, Development of the Judicial Tower Lahore while New proposed schemes for the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2025–26, focusing on improving judicial infrastructure and strengthening the justice system across the province.
Addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring easy access to justice and enhancing legal infrastructure throughout Punjab.
He stated that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government is determined to reform and modernize the legal and judicial system in accordance with modern requirements.
The Minister directed the Law Department to ensure timely completion, transparency, and high-quality standards in all ongoing development projects. He emphasized that the provision of better working facilities for the legal fraternity, particularly for women lawyers, is one of the government’s top priorities to empower them to play a more effective role in the justice system. Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan appreciated the efforts of the Law Department for their detailed briefing and expressed confidence that all development projects would contribute to improving service delivery and strengthening the rule of law in the province.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Law Department, representatives from the Advocate General’s Office, and other relevant officials.
