TEHRAN (Web Desk) – Pakistan, Iran, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have pledged to continue diplomatic consultations and strengthen regional cooperation following a high-level security meeting in Tehran on Monday.
According to a joint statement issued after the October 26 meeting, the four countries agreed to maintain dialogue and develop closer coordination to address shared security concerns and promote stability across the region.
The meeting was hosted by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei and brought together Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization chief Ibrahim Kalin.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also participated in the discussions, according to reports from the meeting.
Regional security tops agenda
The talks focused on regional security challenges, the consequences of US and Israeli military actions against Iran, and developments affecting the wider Middle East.
The participants exchanged views on the need for sustained diplomatic engagement, stronger mutual trust and regional mechanisms that could help countries address security threats through cooperation.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei described the meeting as a practical step towards developing regional security arrangements based on shared interests and the participation of countries in the region.
Palestine and Lebanon also discussed
The situation in Palestine and Lebanon formed another important part of the discussions, reflecting continuing concerns over conflict and instability across the region.
The participating countries considered the broader implications of these developments and the importance of coordinated regional efforts to address common challenges.
Their commitment to continued consultations signals an effort to strengthen diplomatic engagement at a time when tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel remain a major concern for regional governments.
Focus on continued dialogue
The meeting provided a platform for the four countries to exchange assessments and explore ways to improve cooperation on regional peace and security.
While the joint statement emphasised continued dialogue and coordination, further consultations are expected to be important in translating the commitments into practical regional initiatives.
The latest engagement highlights the participating countries’ shared interest in strengthening regional communication and pursuing diplomatic approaches to security challenges.
