LAHORE: During the Punjab Assembly session for the first time Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, using his powers, has issued orders to suspend the Secretary Minerals, and asked for a report from the chief secretary.
Privilege Committee Samiullah Khan chairman called the Minerals secretary a mental patient, while Mining and Minerals Minister Sher Ali Gorchani admitted the failure of his department.
In the meeting chaired by Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, Provincial Minister of Minerals Sher Ali Gorchani appeared angry with the secretary of his department during the question period in the Assembly. The Assembly session was adjourned for fifteen minutes to convene.
After the adjournment of the meeting, the speaker expressed his displeasure and issued an order to remove the secretary Minerals from his post.
During the session, Speaker Punjab Assembly condemned the incident that happened in London with former Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and termed it as shameful.
Provincial Irrigation Minister Kazim Pirzada and Punjab Agriculture Minister Ashiq Kirmani termed water shortage as the most severe crisis during the general discussion and said that there is no opposition and no government on the issue of water.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan adjourned the meeting of the Punjab Assembly till 2 pm on Friday.
