LAHORE (Web Desk) — Police have arrested one suspect in the alleged gang rape case of a 20-year-old Azerbaijani woman in Lahore’s Defence C area, according to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Lahore.
DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza said the arrested suspect was identified as Mohsin, while police teams were conducting raids at different locations to apprehend the remaining two suspects.
According to the police official, the victim, identified as Diana, a 20-year-old resident of Baku, Azerbaijan, underwent a medical examination, and the report indicated evidence of sexual assault.
The DIG said the woman’s statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) had also been recorded before a judicial magistrate.
Syed Zeeshan Raza said efforts were underway to arrest the other suspects and expressed hope that they would be taken into custody soon.
Police said further investigation into the case is continuing.

Meanwhile, A medical report in the alleged sexual assault case involving a foreign woman in Lahore has documented injuries and the collection of DNA samples, according to a report received by Express News.
According to the medical report, marks of pressure were found on the woman’s shoulder, while injuries were also observed on her knee. DNA samples were collected from her body for forensic examination.
Police have also detained six more people as part of the investigation into the case.
According to police, Shahdara police handed the detained individuals over to Defence C police. The suspects are reportedly close associates of the main accused and had remained in contact with them.
Police said the individuals were traced and detained with the help of mobile phone records and location data. Investigators are questioning them about the alleged assault and their links with the main suspects.
Authorities are continuing efforts to arrest the remaining main suspects, while the investigation and forensic process are ongoing.
The medical findings are part of the ongoing investigation and will be considered alongside forensic evidence, witness statements and other material collected by investigators.
