LAHORE: Lahore Police continued the tradition of honouring the supreme sacrifices of its martyrs as a police contingent visited the grave of Constable Tanveer Ahmad on his 13th death anniversary at the Chuhng graveyard on Tuesday.

A smartly turned-out squad presented a salute at the martyr’s grave, laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha. The family members of the martyred constable were also present on the occasion.

Constable Tanveer Ahmad embraced martyrdom on September 26, 2012, during an operation against outlaws while on duty at Officers’ Colony, Chuhng.

In his message, Lahore Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana paid rich tribute to the late constable, describing his courage and bravery as a beacon of light for the entire force.

He reiterated that the police department would never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs, terming them the pride of the force. He added that Lahore Police had always prioritised the welfare of the families of martyrs and that all available resources were being utilised for their care.
