He said Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has created history by initiating development projects worth billions of rupees specifically for Raiwind, the likes of which have never been seen before. He announced that on April 29, over 1.2 million families will receive ration cards under a new welfare initiative launched by the Chief Minister. He also shared that Raiwind’s first-ever Sports Complex, constructed at a cost of Rs. 32 crore, is in its final stages of completion. This project aims to empower the youth through sports. Furthermore, for the first time in Punjab’s history, the minimum wage for laborers has been set at Rs. 37,000.
Senior PML-N leader, Member of National Assembly, and Chairman of Model Bazaars Punjab, Malik Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, also addressed the gathering. He stated that mega projects are being initiated for the people of the constituency. The purpose of the Raiwind gathering, he emphasized, was to fulfill the promises made to the public. He revealed that with special grants approved for Raiwind, several key development projects will be launched, including the inauguration of a clean drinking water supply system, modern water infrastructure, upgrading of old disposal systems, and improvement of the sewerage system. These initiatives aim to significantly enhance the quality of life for residents, resolving issues that have persisted for over four decades. Malik Afzal Khokhar added that upon assuming office, their first priority was to complete all previously incomplete projects. These include the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, a flyover, household gas connections, a model railway station, playgrounds, an open water supply scheme, paved roads, and a larger cemetery. These achievements, he said, are a testament to the legacy of the lion symbol of PML-N. The event also featured speeches by Chairman Punjab Transport Authority Chaudhry Shehzad Sandhu, MSF President Malik Ahsan Khokhar, President of the Central Traders Association Raiwind, former MPA Mirza Muhammad Javed, Chaudhry Nazir Sandhu, and others. They expressed their confidence in PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif and hailed the party’s tenure as a golden era during which the public’s basic rights were ensured.
The gathering saw a large turnout of PML-N leaders and workers.
