LAHORE, October 24: A 30-member delegation from the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), led by Vice Chairman Raheel Iqbal, met Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol to explore opportunities and challenges in Pakistan’s IT sector. The delegation included Sadia Rana, Nasir Ali, and Ali Ahmad.

LCCI President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol said Pakistan’s IT sector holds vast potential to drive economic growth. He urged the government to create a conducive business environment, ensure faster internet connectivity, promote AI-based initiatives, and improve access to quality IT hardware.

He highlighted that Pakistan’s large youth population, especially those aged 15 to 30, is a valuable human resource capable of transforming the economy if equipped with modern IT skills. “Our youth is our biggest asset, and their active participation in the IT sector can reshape Pakistan’s economic future,” he noted.

P@SHA Vice Chairman Raheel Iqbal said that despite increasing youth interest in IT, the lack of structured skill development and guidance remains a serious obstacle. He shared that P@SHA has developed a specialized IT curriculum for the government to help bridge this gap and called for Higher Education Commission (HEC) reforms to align educational programs with industry demands.
