LAHORE: Lahore Police have intensified enforcement of the Tenancy Act, aiming to build a safer and more secure society. The development was confirmed in a statement by the police spokesperson on Tuesday.

According to officials, 2,433 people have been arrested in 2025 for violations of the Tenancy Act, with 1,384 cases registered across different police stations in the city.
Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana stressed that registering tenants under the Police Tenant Registration System is a civic duty for both landlords and tenants.
“The registration of tenants and domestic employees is mandatory and has played a key role in arresting wanted criminals,” CCPO Kamyana said. “This is not only a legal requirement but also ensures the safety of tenants and domestic workers.”
He added that Lahore Police are using modern technology to strengthen law enforcement and create a law-abiding society. The CCPO urged landlords and tenants to promptly register through the system as a mark of responsible citizenship.
