
LAHORE: Lahore Police have registered 4507 cases of illegal weapons, 149 cases of weapon display and 218 cases of aerial firing during various operations against lawbreakers for threatening public peace during current year.
This was stated by the Lahore Police spokesperson in a statement issued today. The spokesperson stated that 74 Kalashnikovs, 334 rifles, 171 guns, over 4,000 pistols, and 25,012 bullets were seized from the arrested suspects.
Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that combating criminal elements is a major responsibility of the Lahore Police. He stated that the Lahore Police adhere to a zero-tolerance policy on aerial firing, illegal weapons and weapon display. The CCPO instructed relevant officers to effectively follow up and conduct intelligence-based operations to detain those involved in aerial firing and possessing illegal weapons. He directed to take an intensified crackdown on those involved in illegal weapons possession, weapons display. He stated that actions against elements taking the law into their own hands should continue without any discrimination.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana further emphasized that officers should utilize their professional skills and capabilities to play their active role in establishing a safe society.
