LAHORE – In anticipation of Eid-ul-Azha, Lahore Police has intensified its crackdown against one-wheelers and those involved in aerial firing to ensure public safety.
According to the police spokesman, 931 individuals have been arrested this year so far for one-wheeling with 821 cases registered against them.

The spokesman added that 547 suspects have been apprehended for aerial firing, resulting in the registration of 681 cases. Additionally, 27 cases have been registered for the display of firearms while 3,913 cases were filed for possession of illegal weapons, he said. From the arrested individuals, police recovered 34 Kalashnikovs, 229 rifles, 149 shotguns, 3,510 pistols and 18,498 bullets, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana reiterated that one-wheeling and aerial firing will not be tolerated. He added that police squads have been deployed to maintain law and order in the city. He also urged youth to avoid dangerous stunts like one-wheeling and illegal modifications of motorcycles, warning of strict legal action against violators.
He directed that special teams remain active to prevent aerial firing, one-wheeling and kite flying while Dolphin Squad and other patrolling units ensure a swift response to any incidents. Lady patrolling squads will also be deployed at public places to promote a sense of security among women and children, he added.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana reaffirmed that Lahore Police was alert and committed to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens during Eid-ul-Azha.
