LAHORE, Nov 11: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that corruption in any form will not be tolerated within the police department and strict action will be taken promptly upon receipt of any complaint. He made these remarks while presiding over a performance review meeting of Iqbal Town and Saddar Divisions held at the Capital City Police Headquarters. The meeting reviewed in detail crime control measures, quality of investigation and other professional matters.

CCPO Lahore while expressing satisfaction over crime control, issued directives to ensure foolproof security arrangements for Sikh pilgrims arriving to celebrate Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary. The meeting also discussed various other matters, including repatriation of illegally residing Afghan nationals. He directed all relevant officers to accelerate ongoing crackdown against illegal Afghan residents and warned that strict action would be taken against those found involved in renting out houses, shops or properties to such individuals. He further instructed officials to ensure strict implementation of the Tenancy and Loudspeaker Acts, emphasizing that law would promptly come into action against dissemination of any sort of hate material.

CCPO Lahore asserted that indiscriminate action would be taken against those involved in aerial firing, one-wheeling and other unlawful activities. He affirmed that in case of aerial firing during wedding events, hosts would be held accountable.He also directed that public announcements be made from mosques to raise awareness about dangers of aerial firing. He urged the officers to play a vigorous role in providing immediate relief and justice to the citizens. The meeting was attended by DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, SSP (Operations) Tassawar Iqbal, SSP (Discipline) Hassan Javed Bhatti, SPs, ASPs, circle officers, SHOs and in-charges of investigation wings from Iqbal Town and Saddar Divisions.
