LAHORE (Nov 10): Lahore Police have been placed on high alert to ensure foolproof security for the Sikh pilgrims arriving in Pakistan.

This was stated by Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana in a statement issued here on Monday. He said that security around gurdwaras and the residential facilities of Sikh pilgrims had been further tightened.

He directed all supervisory officers to ensure strict implementation of the security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) formulated for the Sikh pilgrims. The CCPO instructed that the boundary walls, surveillance cameras, barbed wires and other protective measures at minority worship places be made more effective.

The CCPO further said that police officers should remain in constant contact with designated focal persons and leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safety of the visiting pilgrims. He directed officers and personnel deployed on duty to stay fully alert and keep a vigilant eye on suspicious persons.

He added that police teams stationed at all entry and exit points of the city had been instructed to conduct strict and effective checking. Dolphin Squad, Police Response Units and Elite Force teams are carrying out continuous patrolling across Lahore to maintain law and order.

The CCPO reiterated that Lahore Police, alongside its anti-crime efforts, is committed to providing comprehensive security to all religious minorities.٭٭٭٭٭
