LAHORE: LONGi, a global leader in solar panel manufacturing, held a donation delivery ceremony in Padri Village near Lahore, over 150 families received small solar panels in the donation drive across the country, known as LONGi Horizon. This initiative aims to bring sustainable and reliable energy solutions to underserved communities and marks a significant step toward addressing energy challenges in rural areas, where access to electricity remains limited.
Afaaq Ali Khan, Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Solar Association (PSA), attended the event as an honorable guest. The donation event in Padri Village Lahore included the distribution of solar panel packages as part of a larger initiative, with a total of 150 solar panels distributed. The donation package included a complete solar panel solution, including the LONGi Horizon solar panel, controller, battery, fan, and lights. Of these, 50 panels were provided to Padri Village Lahore, 50 to a village near Karachi, and 50 to a village near Islamabad.
The solar panels, donated by LONGi, a global leader in solar energy, are designed to provide higher power generation with greater energy efficiency and a longer service life. These innovative yet compact panels are transforming lives in Padri Village by illuminating homes and enabling families to enjoy the basic benefits of reliable electricity for the first time.
Residents of Padri Village expressed their gratitude for the initiative, sharing how these panels are improving their daily lives. From allowing children to study at night to providing a safe and well-lit environment, the donation is making a profound difference in the community.
This initiative reflects our belief in creating a sustainable future through renewable energy,” said Ali Majid, General Manager for the Central Asia Branch of LONGi Pakistan, at the ceremony. “We are proud to support communities like Padri Village and hope to inspire further adoption of clean energy solutions to address pressing energy needs. This is an initiative we will continue supporting underserved communities like Padri Village across Pakistan in the future as well.
The donation underscores the growing role of renewable energy in fostering sustainable development and highlights the potential of small-scale solar solutions to bring meaningful change to underserved communities. By lighting up over 150 households, the initiative is a testament to the power of innovation in addressing global challenges at a local level.
With a focus on clean, efficient, and sustainable energy, the project aligns with broader efforts to promote renewable energy adoption in Pakistan and beyond. The simple yet impactful contribution of these solar panels is a reminder of how renewable energy can be a catalyst for positive change, illuminating lives and futures alike.
