MUMBAI (The Tribune International) : The Deol family’s association with Bollywood looks set to continue into another generation, with Bobby Deol revealing that both his sons, Aryaman and Dharam Deol, are keen to pursue careers in acting. Despite hoping his children might explore professions outside the film industry, the actor admitted that cinema’s enduring appeal has drawn them toward the silver screen.

Speaking during an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Bobby shared insights into his sons’ ambitions and their preparations for a future in entertainment. The actor revealed that he had initially imagined a different path for his elder son, Aryaman, who graduated with honours in finance from New York University.

According to Bobby, he believed Aryaman might build a successful career in the United States and establish himself in the corporate world. However, the youngster eventually decided to follow his passion for films and expressed a desire to become an actor.

The actor said Aryaman is currently focused on training and self-improvement before making his industry debut. Praising his son’s dedication, Bobby revealed that during the COVID-19 lockdown, Aryaman spent considerable time teaching himself various aspects of filmmaking.

Beyond acting, he reportedly learned editing techniques, sound design, dubbing processes and other technical elements associated with film production. Bobby noted that his son independently acquired these skills while also working on his physical fitness and dance training. According to the actor, Aryaman used online resources and self-learning methods to better understand the craft and prepare himself for the demands of the industry.

Bobby also disclosed that his younger son, Dharam, shares similar aspirations and hopes to become an actor. Reflecting on the allure of cinema, the actor remarked that the film industry often attracts people regardless of their professional backgrounds, making acting a dream for many.

Bobby and his wife, Tania Deol, have largely kept their sons away from the media spotlight while they grew up. The couple married in 1996 and are parents to Aryaman, born in 2001, and Dharam, born in 2004.

On the professional front, Bobby remains busy with several upcoming projects. He will next be seen in Bandar, directed by Anurag Kashyap, where he plays Sameer Mehra, an aspiring rockstar facing serious allegations. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 5, 2026.

The actor is also part of Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated spy thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is set to hit theatres on July 10, 2026.
