LAHORE: The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Mr. Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, paid a visit to the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, Lahore, along with a high-level delegation. The delegation included senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Police officers of Bangladesh including H.E. Mr. Nasimul Ghani, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs Mr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Additional IG of Police Mr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy Secretary and Mr. Md. Zannatul Hassan, Additional Deputy IG of Police, among others.

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, welcomed the delegation. Managing Director Safe Cities, Mr. Muhammad Ahsan Younas, and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Mustansir Feroze, accompanied the delegation during their visit to various departments of Safe City and provided a detailed briefing. The delegation was informed about the use of cutting-edge technology, artificial intelligence applications, security modules, traffic management, and advanced features of the Emergency Helpline 15. They also showed keen interest in the Women Safety App, Virtual Women Police Station, Virtual Center for Child Safety, and the Traffic Management System. On this occasion, the Bangladeshi officials highly commended Pakistan’s Safe City Project, declaring it an exemplary role model for the entire region. Both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the areas of security, technology, and training. A commemorative shield was presented to the delegation on behalf of Punjab Safe Cities Authority. Senior officials from the National Radio Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) were also present at the occasion.
