LAHORE: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar, accompanied by Hafiz Numan, visited newly elected Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Ali Hussam Asghar to congratulate him on his election and discuss key economic issues facing Lahore’s business community.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on economic development, the promotion of trade and industry, and measures to address the challenges confronting traders and industrialists in Lahore. The discussion also focused on the role of the LCCI in supporting the business community and contributing to the city’s economic growth.

LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar shared his vision and future plans for the chamber, highlighting the importance of strengthening its role as a representative platform for the business community. He emphasized the need for close coordination between the government and the private sector to create a business-friendly environment, encourage investment, and promote industrial and commercial activities in Lahore.
The president also discussed opportunities for Lahore’s economic development, stressing the importance of addressing the concerns of traders and industrialists to facilitate sustainable growth. He underlined the need for practical measures to reduce difficulties faced by businesses and improve the overall environment for commercial and industrial operations.
A major point of discussion was the need for the immediate resolution of issues related to the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) against traders and industrialists, as well as concerns regarding the exercise of powers under the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA).
Ali Hussam Asghar highlighted the concerns of the business community over these matters and stressed the importance of resolving them through effective coordination with the relevant authorities. He maintained that traders and industrialists require a predictable and supportive regulatory environment to conduct their business activities without unnecessary hurdles.
The participants discussed the importance of addressing these concerns promptly and ensuring that regulatory and enforcement mechanisms do not create avoidable difficulties for legitimate commercial and industrial activities.
Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar assured the LCCI president of his full support in addressing the economic and administrative issues faced by traders and industrialists in Lahore. He expressed his commitment to facilitating coordination with the relevant government departments to help resolve the concerns raised by the business community.

LCCI former Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhary, Executive Committee members Mardan Ali Zaidi and Muhammad Ali, Harris Attique, and other representatives were also present at the meeting.
