LAHORE: Business leader Ali Hussam Asghar has submitted his nomination papers for the post of president of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) from the Vision Alliance, as the election process for the chamber’s new office-bearers entered its final stage.
The nomination papers were submitted at the LCCI office on Saturday in the presence of members of the business community and supporters of the Vision Alliance.
Along with Ali Hussam Asghar, the Vision Alliance has nominated Sardar Usman Ghani for the Senior Vice President (SVP) slot and Khadim Hussain for the Vice President (VP) position.
Vision Alliance Chairman Mian Misbahur Rehman was present on the occasion and expressed confidence in the alliance’s nominees.
Speaking on the occasion, Ali Hussam Asghar thanked traders and industrialists for their confidence and support. He said that, if elected, he would work with dedication to address the challenges faced by the business community and strive to meet their expectations.
He said the LCCI had an important responsibility in representing the voice of the private sector, promoting business-friendly policies and highlighting issues faced by entrepreneurs before relevant forums.
The Vision Alliance leadership said its candidates would focus on strengthening the chamber’s role, improving coordination between businesses and government institutions, and supporting traders and industrialists in Lahore.
The nomination process is an important stage in the LCCI annual elections, where members of the business community participate in selecting representatives for the chamber’s leadership.
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry is one of Pakistan’s major business organisations, representing traders and industrialists and advocating for economic growth and private sector development.
The election process has attracted significant interest among the business community, with different groups presenting their candidates and priorities for the upcoming term.
