Chief Advisor UMT Lieutenant General (R) Javed Hassan and Police Scholars Attend

LAHORE: A seminar on the topic of policing was held at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), where Additional IG Operations Punjab Shahzada Sultan attended as the chief guest. The seminar was also attended by Chief Advisor UMT Lieutenant General (R) Javed Hassan and police scholars.
During the event, Additional IG Shahzada Sultan addressed the police officers who had received scholarships at UMT, expressing his happiness in visiting the university. Shahzada Sultan emphasized that UMT’s scholarships, amounting to millions of rupees, are a great support for police officers, and he expressed his gratitude to UMT for their contributions. He praised UMT for conducting the best capacity-building programs for police officers, noting that UMT is one of the most organized universities in the world. He added that knowledge cannot be achieved without love and passion.

He further said that upon completing education, officers should show their gratitude to the institution through exemplary public service. He highlighted the pivotal role that parents and teachers play in the training and development of individuals. Lieutenant General (R) Javed Hassan congratulated the police scholars, stating that the collaboration between UMT and Punjab Police would be beneficial for Pakistan, and the scholars’ excellent performance would bring honor to both the institution and the department. Spokesperson for Punjab Police shared that at the conclusion of the ceremony, Shahzada Sultan and Chief Advisor UMT Lieutenant General (R) Javed Hassan distributed certificates to the police scholars.

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has taken notice of the martyrdom of Constable Qadeer Khan and the serious injury of Constable Nusrat Khan in an incident of firing by unknown motorcycle-riding assailants on Hazro-Hattian Road in Attock. IG Punjab has sought a report from the RPO Rawalpindi and has issued orders to DPO Attock for the immediate arrest of the assailants involved in the firing.
IG Punjab paid tribute to Constable Qadeer Khan for his great sacrifice, who attained the rank of martyr while protecting the lives and property of citizens. IGP Punjab said that the Punjab Police shares the grief of the martyred official’s family and will spare no effort in their care and support. IG Punjab also directed the provision of the best medical treatment to the injured police official, Nasrat Khan.
Spokesperson for Punjab Police provided further details, stating that police officials on patrol in the area of Bahadur Khan, near the police station Hazro, signaled three suspicious motorcyclists to stop. In response, the unknown assailants opened direct fire on the police team. Constable Qadeer Khan, posted at the Hattian check post, was martyred, while Constable Nusrat Khan was seriously injured and transferred to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment.
DPO Attock, Dr. Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan, immediately reached the crime scene and also visited the injured Constable Nusrat Khan at the hospital. DPO Attock said that police teams have been formed to arrest the culprits involved in the firing, and they will be apprehended soon.
