LAHORE: Kinnaird College for Women became the hub of innovation, leadership, and collaboration as it hosted the prestigious IEEE International Leadership Summit (ILS) and TechFusion 2.0 on April 7th and 8th, 2025.

The two day event drew attention from academia, industry professionals, and students across Pakistan, creating a vibrant space to celebrate technology and empower women in STEM.
The summit was led by an inspiring team of organizers including Dr. Sidra Zafar, Head of the Computer Science Department at Kinnaird College; Ms. Arfa Dilawari, Counselor for the IEEE Kinnaird Student Branch; Ms. Anam Tariq, Chair IEEE Women in Engineering; and Ms. Asma Basharat, also Chair IEEE WIE. Their collaborative efforts brought together over 500 participants, including students from top universities such as FAST, PUCIT, LCWU, UCP, Superior University, and more.
Among the invited guests was Dr. Saleha Waqar Butt, an academic and marketing professional, who observed the sessions closely and thoughtfully highlighted the key takeaways from the summit in her concluding, Dr. Saleha highlighted the importance of self-growth, empathy-led leadership, and the critical role of women in reshaping the future of STEM in Pakistan. Her analysis shed light on the evolving mindset in corporate and academic spheres, where emotional intelligence and purposeful leadership are emerging as core strengths.
The keynote session by Usman Asif left a lasting impression with his insights on inner alignment and self-awareness offering tools for professionals to thrive amidst the noise of modern-day distractions. Dr. Saleha’s summary emphasized this message, noting that real growth begins with personal clarity and a deeper sense of purpose.
Parallel to the summit, TechFusion 2.0 welcomed over 500 participants, including 400 from Kinnaird College and students from leading universities.From poster design contests and flash coding challenges to gaming showdowns, the competitions reflected the incredible talent and innovation brewing in Pakistan’s student community.
The event underscored a larger message that empowered leadership, inclusion, and collaboration are the pathways to sustainable progress in tech and beyond
