LAHORE: Punjab Assembly to host first Asia and South East Asia Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference in Lahore from 7-8 February 2025.

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association was established in 1911. 180 parliaments from 56 countries of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association are part of this organization.
Punjab Assembly has been a member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association since 1954.
The objective of the CPA is to promote democratic principles and ensure accountability.
Punjab Assembly will host the Asian Regional Conference of the CPA for the first time.
The CPA conference will be attended by more than 100 representatives from 20 assemblies including Sri Lanka, Maldives, United Kingdom, Zambia, Malaysia and Pakistan.
The participants will include 13 speakers, 4 deputy speakers and a chairman.
The agenda of the conference will be based on parliamentary democracy, transparent legislation and accountability.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan visited the assembly to review the preparations for the conference.
The speaker says that the CPA conference is a golden opportunity to promote global parliamentary cooperation.

The conference will highlight Pakistan’s parliamentary identity at the global llevel. It is said the conference is a great opportunity to highlight the parliamentary traditions and values of Punjab, providing the best diplomatic environment to foreign delegates is our top priority.
The Punjab Assembly is going to host a global parliamentary conference for the first time in history, every moment will be historic.
This conference is a great honor not only for Punjab but for the whole of Pakistan, it is said.
