LAHORE: The World Punjabi Congress (WPC) is set to organize the 34th International Conference on Sufi Tradition, focusing on the spiritual and literary journey from Baba Farid to Ghulam Farid.
This highly anticipated five-day event will take place from January 19 to 23, 2025, at Pak Heritage Hotel, Davis Road, Lahore.
The conference will be inaugurated by WPC Chairman Fakhar Zaman, with keynote addresses from distinguished guests, including Deepak Manmohan Singh and Sehajpreet Singh Mangat of the WPC India Chapter.

The program will feature discussions, papers, and cultural activities highlighting the profound impact of Sufi traditions on Punjab’s history, literature, and contemporary relevance.
Highlights of the conference include:
– 19th January: Inaugural session, keynote speeches, and a documentary on Sufi poets by Farrukh Zaman.
– 20th January: Presentations on the role of Sufi poets in Punjab and their relevance to contemporary issues, followed by a cultural program.
– 21st January: Discussions on women’s roles in Sufi traditions, poetry recitals, and the Lahore Declaration.
– 22nd and 23rd January: Visits to significant spiritual sites, including Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib.
Chairman Fakhar Zaman emphasized the conference’s importance in promoting interfaith harmony and understanding through the teachings of Sufi poets. “This event will bridge cultures and nations by celebrating the universal message of peace and love embedded in Sufi traditions,” he stated.
