LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to establish provincial authorities for development, water and sanitation and horticulture.
In a meeting held, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif gave in-principle approval to form three provincial authorities.
It was decided Punjab Development Authority, Punjab Water and Sanitation Authority and Punjab Horticulture Authority will be established.
There will be formal legislation for the establishment of provincial authorities
while provincial authorities will formulate policies and plans at the central level.
The Development, Water and Sanitation and Horticulture agencies will ensure implementation at the local level, the meeting decided, agreeing proposals for formation of governing board and director general for provincial authorities will also be tabled.
During the meeting Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also directed to transfer street lights to solar energy.
Provincial Ministers Bilal Yasin, Zeeshan Rafiq, chief secretary, principal secretary, concerned secretaries and other officials participatedin the meeting.
