The institute organised a formal graduation ceremony to honour students from its first graduating batch, recognising their successful completion of vocational training programmes and marking an important milestone in the institution’s journey.
Shaban Akhtar, Chairman of the Daroghawala Industrial Owners Association and Director of Tehsil Shalimar Colleges, attended the event as the chief guest.
Other distinguished guests included Muhammad Ilyas, Member of the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Shalimar; Rameez Dewan; Farhan Ali; Executive Member Nasir Sohail; and Muhammad Salman, Senior Manager Examinations and Certificates at the Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC).
Addressing the gathering, Akhtar congratulated the graduating students and commended Principal Rozina Abbas and her entire team for organising the ceremony.
He appreciated the institute’s efforts to provide young people with opportunities to acquire practical skills and technical knowledge, describing vocational education as an important instrument for improving employment prospects and supporting economic development.
“Equipping the younger generation with modern skills and technical training is the key to securing a bright future and is the most important need of the present time,” Akhtar said.
He emphasised that academic qualifications alone were not sufficient to meet the requirements of an increasingly competitive employment market, adding that practical expertise and industry-oriented training could help young people establish successful careers.
The chairman congratulated all students who had completed their training and expressed his best wishes for their professional journeys. He encouraged the graduates to use their newly acquired skills confidently in practical and industrial environments.
Akhtar also assured the graduating students that he would extend possible support and cooperation to help them pursue opportunities in the industrial and professional sectors.
His remarks highlighted the importance of stronger collaboration between vocational training institutions and industrial organisations to bridge the gap between technical education and workplace requirements.
The participation of representatives from the industrial sector and local administration also provided an opportunity to discuss the role of vocational institutions in preparing a skilled workforce for emerging employment opportunities.
The graduation ceremony marked the completion of training for the institute’s first batch, providing recognition to students who had taken their initial steps towards professional careers through technical education.
Principal Rozina Abbas and her team received appreciation for their efforts in organising the event and facilitating the students’ training and graduation.
The ceremony concluded with a special Sufi Night arranged for the graduating students and distinguished guests. The cultural programme added a festive touch to the occasion, bringing the formal proceedings to an enjoyable close.
The event celebrated the achievements of the first graduating batch while highlighting the growing importance of technical and vocational education in empowering young people, improving employability and contributing to industrial development.
