LAHORE – The Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team achieved a remarkable milestone at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, defeating Bangladesh to win the bronze medal and bring international recognition to the country.
The historic achievement holds special significance for Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), as four of its students were part of the national squad that represented Pakistan at the prestigious international event.
LCWU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi and Director Sports Dr. Sumaira Sattar congratulated the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team on its outstanding performance and appreciated the players for bringing pride to the nation.
They said the bronze medal represents not only a major sporting accomplishment but also reflects the growing talent, determination and potential of Pakistani women athletes competing at global platforms.
The university leadership expressed particular pride in the participation of four LCWU students in the national team, stating that their inclusion highlights LCWU’s continued efforts towards promoting women’s sports and nurturing athletes capable of representing Pakistan internationally.
