Journalists’ delegation holds dialogue with ISPR Punjab commander on national security and social cohesion

There was an open discussion on national security, national unity, social harmony and future challenges. ISPR Brigadier Muhammad Asif expressed his determination that today's state does not accept any concept where a "state within a state" exists.

LAHORE: A delegation of the South Asian Journalists Council held an informal and very meaningful meeting with Sector Commander ISPR Punjab Brigadier Muhammad Asif.

During the discussion, there was an open discussion on national security, national unity, social harmony and future challenges. Brigadier Muhammad Asif expressed his determination that today’s state does not accept any concept where a “state within a state” exists. Compared to the past, there is now a clear national determination to see the country completely free from groups, groups and non-state elements and no one is more powerful than the state.

He considered the growing population as one of the major problems of Pakistan and emphasized that only legislation is not enough, but it is also necessary to promote tolerance, tolerance, dialogue and mutual respect. According to him, politicians, intellectuals, religious leaders, media and all stakeholders have a joint responsibility to play their positive role in normalizing the society and strengthening national harmony.

Brigadier Muhammad Asif’s important point has that every citizen living in Pakistan is a patriot, and no individual has the right to call another Pakistani a traitor based on a difference of opinion.

This same thought can form the basis of a strong, peaceful and developed Pakistan. There can be differences, but not hostility; there can be criticism, but not hatred. When we respect each other, the state will be strong and so will the society. Major Wahab was also present in the meeting, while the journalists’ delegation included Mian Saif ur Rehman, Ashraf Sohail, Zameer Afaqi. Asim Shahzad Hanif Anjum, Maqsood Khalid, Shaukat Marwat, Rukia Ghazal, and Maarij Zameer. Terming the meeting as important in the context of the country’s political and social conditions, they expressed their determination that nothing comes before national security and that we should all work together to play our role for the betterment of society.
