Pakistan Women defeated Sri Lanka Women by five wickets in the first ODI in Hambantota, with Gull Feroza scoring 78 to secure a 1-0 series lead.

HAMBANTOTA (Web Desk) – Pakistan Women defeated Sri Lanka Women by five wickets in the opening match of the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series on Thursday, taking a 1-0 lead in the contest.

After opting to bat first, Sri Lanka Women posted 210-9 in their allotted 50 overs.

Pakistan’s bowlers kept the hosts in check, with Nashra Sandhu leading the attack by claiming three wickets, while Tasmia Rubab picked up two wickets.

In reply, Pakistan Women successfully chased the 211-run target in 43 overs, losing five wickets.

Opening batter Gull Feroza anchored the innings with a superb 78, while Sidra Amin contributed a composed 57 to steer Pakistan to victory.

The second ODI of the series will be played on Saturday, where Pakistan will look to seal the series, while Sri Lanka will aim to level it.
