LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced that Pakistan’s men’s cricket team will tour England in May 2027 for a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series as part of preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

According to the PCB, the series will begin on May 15, 2027, in Southampton, while the fifth and final ODI will be played in Cardiff on May 26, 2027.

The second ODI is scheduled for Manchester on May 19, followed by the third match in Leeds on May 21. The fourth ODI will take place in Chester-le-Street on May 23 before the teams conclude the series in Cardiff.

The five-match contest is expected to provide valuable match practice for both Pakistan and England ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which will be staged in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia during October and November.

Pakistan are currently ranked fifth in the ICC Men’s ODI rankings, while England occupy the seventh position.

Before the England ODI series, Pakistan are currently on a tour of the West Indies for a two-match Test series. After completing that assignment, the national side will travel to England again for a three-match Test series scheduled from August 19 to September 13.

The upcoming ODI series will mark Pakistan’s first bilateral 50-over tour of England since 2021. During that three-match series, former captain Babar Azam finished as Pakistan’s leading run-scorer with 177 runs, including a brilliant 158-run innings in the third ODI.

The PCB said the 2027 ODI series is expected to play a key role in helping both teams fine-tune their combinations and preparations ahead of cricket’s biggest 50-over tournament.
