LAHORE: A meeting of the Public Accounts Committee-I (PAC-I) has held at the Punjab Assembly under the chairmanship of Iftikhar Hussain Chachar, MPA. Officers from the Punjab Assembly and various government departments attended the meeting.
Audit paras relating to the Youth Affairs and Sports Department were discussed during today’s session.
These audit paras pertained to the non-deduction of tax on the payment of honorarium, irregular procurement of furniture for the E-Library, irregular procurement of special sports kits for the 73rd Punjab Games, procurement through non-qualified firms, and non-recovery of rent from the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).
The Committee directed the department to ensure that all remaining recoveries are made on a priority basis.
