LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Central Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday dismissed media reports regarding a change in the party’s central secretary general, calling them contrary to facts and mere speculation.

In an official statement, she clarified that Professor Ahsan Iqbal will continue to serve as the party’s central secretary general. She emphasized that Ahsan Iqbal remains a trusted and close associate of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.
Aurangzeb noted that both the party and the public acknowledge Ahsan Iqbal’s sacrifices, capabilities and contributions toward the country and nation.
She urged media organizations to verify information from the party’s central secretary general or central information secretary before publishing such reports, stressing the importance of responsible journalism.
