LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced to run electric and hybrid buses in Lahore and other cities from November-December this year. Transport Minister Bilal Akbar said that twenty-seven electric buses will be on the roads in Lahore this year.
Other issues were also discussed in the House. The members criticised the performance of the police in several notices regarding the law and order situation.

The session of the Punjab Assembly was chaired by Deputy Speaker Zaheer Iqbal Chanar.
The minister said that Buses will be on the roads, hybrid buses will also be operated in other districts. Not only Lahore, public transport system has been introduced in the big cities of Punjab.
Opposition leader Rana Aftab said that the government is introducing the policy of buses, but there is a traffic jam in all the big cities.
In the House, there was an exchange of bitter words between the Minister of Transport and Ijaz Shafi.
The system had been running for forty years that the system had collapsed in their three years.
In the House, opposition member Owais Work, Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan and Hafiz Farhat Abbas expressed reservations about the performance of the police in several notices regarding the police.
The annual reports of the Public Service Commission were presented in the House. After the agenda was completed, Deputy Speaker Zaheer Iqbal Chanar adjourned the meeting till 2pm on Friday.
