ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The National Assembly was told that over 38,000 Pakistani nationals were deported from various Gulf countries in 2025 due to different legal violations and offences.
Official data shared with lawmakers showed that more than 38,000 individuals were repatriated during the year, placing the issue under renewed scrutiny.
Saudi Arabia accounted for the largest number, deporting 27,692 Pakistanis. The United Arab Emirates expelled 6,794 individuals, followed by Oman with 2,537 deportations. Bahrain sent back 786 Pakistanis, Qatar 644, and Kuwait 163.
The report further stated that 780 citizens were deported for begging. Among them, 767 were removed from Saudi Arabia, 10 from the UAE, two from Qatar and one from Oman. Authorities termed organized begging a serious concern that harms Pakistan’s reputation overseas.
Additionally, 1,025 Pakistanis were deported in connection with drug-related cases, while 109 were expelled on charges of theft.
Officials informed the assembly that measures are being strengthened to tackle illegal migration and unlawful activities abroad. They noted that such actions not only create trouble for individuals but also tarnish the country’s image.
Members of the assembly expressed concern over the figures and urged the government to tighten pre-departure screening and launch awareness drives to stop citizens from going down the wrong path.
Lawmakers observed that overseas jobs support countless families, but violating laws in host countries carries serious consequences. They advised citizens to follow regulations strictly and avoid risky choices that may prove costly.
The government reiterated its resolve to coordinate with Gulf authorities to manage the situation and safeguard Pakistan’s standing internationally.
