OKARA ( News Desk) – A routine day turned tragic for the Okara police when a station house officer (SHO) succumbed to his injuries after being shot by a fellow policeman, officials said on Monday.
Sub-Inspector Muhammad Tariq was critically wounded after a constable opened fire on him two days ago, hitting him three times in the abdomen. He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors fought to save his life, but he later passed away.
The incident sent shockwaves through the police force and the local community. Police swiftly arrested the accused constable within hours, preventing the case from going cold. The deceased SHO, a resident of Basirpur, was described by colleagues as a disciplined officer who served with dedication.
