LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly has set a record by passing 127 laws in its first two parliamentary years, including 83 government bills and 44 private members’ bills. During this period, crores of rupees were spent on allowances for assembly members and staff.

Since February 23, 2024, the Assembly has held a total of 36 sessions, covering 188 days of meetings, including 138 actual sittings. In the first year, the government passed 25 laws, while 58 laws were passed in the second year. Notably, only 3 private members’ bills were passed in the first year compared to 41 in the second year, highlighting a remarkable increase.
In addition, the Assembly presented 586 resolutions over two years, out of which 106 were passed. A total of 517 pending bills were addressed, and 1,255 questions were answered, reflecting an active legislative performance.
