LAHORE: December 02 — A delegation of the Kattar Band Industrial Association visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and met with LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol and Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh to discuss the major issues affecting industrial units in the area.
The delegation was led by Dr. Waseem, President of the Kattar Band Industrial Association, while Patron-in-Chief Mian Nawaz, Ch. Muhammad Yousaf, Sheikh Muhammad Khalid, Mian Yousaf, and other noted industrialists were also present. Former LCCI President Muhammad Ali Mian and Executive Committee Members Rana Nisar and Imran Saleemi also attended.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the serious problems faced by industries located on and around Kattar Band Road. They pointed out that restrictions on industrial gas connections, continuous load-shedding of gas and electricity, incomplete WASA projects causing uncertain water supply, encroachments, and poor sanitation have created major obstacles for industries.
The delegation emphasized that the suspension of industrial gas connections has severely affected business operations and that new connections must be restored immediately to stabilize production. They also expressed concern over electricity outages, stating that no load-shedding schedule is issued, which disrupts the entire production process.
The poor condition of Kattar Band Road and traffic congestion were also major concerns. Industrialists said that damaged infrastructure and traffic issues are increasing the cost of doing business and wasting time. Incomplete WASA projects and poor cleanliness have further complicated the situation in the industrial area.
LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol assured the delegation that the Chamber has always raised its voice for the business community and is actively working on their issues. He mentioned that LCCI successfully secured two extensions in the income tax return filing deadline and is currently in contact with the government for extending the e-online return date as well. He added that the Chamber closely monitors all issues related to traders and industrialists and will continue to strive for their welfare.
Industrialists present in the meeting said that the lack of basic facilities in Kattar Band Road and other industrial areas has increased production costs and is negatively affecting the national economy. They stressed that the government must take immediate and effective steps to support industrial growth and business activity.
LCCI President reaffirmed that the Chamber aims to resolve every issue—whether related to electricity, gas, water, sanitation, or taxation. He vowed that the Chamber will continue to raise its voice for the business community and will use all legal and governmental channels to improve the industrial environment.
